I worked at Boston College as the Acting Director of The Church in the 21st Century Center until August, 2010 and served until November 2016 as Canon for Formation, and Dean of the George Mercer Jr. School of Theology of the Diocese of Long Island. I was happy to serve as Rector at the Church of Saint Anselm of Canterbury in Shoreham, New York from late 2016 to early 2020. I am reading much more since I can enlarge the print on my Kindle and Tablet. Also have listened to books in my car for over 30 years. And now that I belong to the book club at SH I am reading books I would never have chosen on my own and have enjoyed them.
Wonderful post, John! The Groucho Marx quote was inspired. Reading remains a big part of my life. I do pleasure reading at least a half hour every day. Usually books, which I prefer, but also using the Kindle app on my Nook. In addition, I use my smart phone to read (and respond to) news from the Boston Globe and the Times, and articles from several independent journals I follow.
