What do you call it?
Anticipation?
Excitement?
Possibility?
Is it that both
people and ideas
mature
over time?
Or at least,
they can?
That bit by
itsy bit
these become
a good fit
in their own
space?
Comfortable in
their own
shape?
Capable of expressing
their own
story
in a manner
clear and accessible?
Able to delight
in their own
reality?
Change is good.
It may be the only
good
ironically
in the end,
for it may be
the carrier
that transports
the unready
to the
threshold of
God’s own house,
Who comes graciously
to the door
with a smile
and a cup of hot chocolate
and says,
“Yes, come in please,
I’ve been expecting
you.
I recognize you now
in your fullness.
Do you?”
(J McGinty, 11.15.14)
Lovely, John. “Able to delight in their own reality.” A worthy aspiration for all of us. And I love the image of God inviting us for cocoa! Hope to consider this image when I sit down with my next cup. Many thanks for a Sunday morning inspiration.
